Race for the Cure

THREE MILES OF MEN

Three Miles of Men is the New York Race for the Cure’s newest Race feature involving men.  Since the Race is an all-women’s Race (except for male breast cancer survivors), men do not run or walk in the Race, but they can participate by lining the Race course and cheering on the women runners and walkers and the male breast cancer survivors.

Over 32,000 people participated in the 2000 New York Race For The Cure.  This included approximately 3,000 men who signed up for Three Miles Of Men.  While this number is greater than last year, which is commendable, the number should be much higher.  Even if each woman who participated in the Race in 2000 was able to get just ONE man to sign up for and be at the Race, there would have been over 50,000 participants at the Race.  It’s a goal worth aiming for!
