Race for the Cure

MONA’S ANGELS

Mona Mary Hadge died of breast cancer in 1964 at the age of 35. She left behind her husband and three children, Jeanne (age 11), Billy (age 9), and Heidi (age 7). Not only was she unable to watch her children grow to adulthood, but Mona has eight grandchildren who have never had the benefit of knowing her because her life was cut short by breast cancer.

It is to the memory of his Aunt Mona that Christopher Patsos dedicates his support of the New York Race For The Cure. Mona was the youngest sister of Chris’ mother, Elaine Patsos, who often referred to Mona as her “Angel”. Therefore, our team is called “Mona’s Angels”.

Christopher Patsos (along with his legal secretary, Ann Malina) is proud, individually and in his capacity as sole proprietor of The Law Offices of Christopher James Patsos LLC, to have been a Silver Sponsor of 2000 New York Race For The Cure as well as a major sponsor of Three Miles Of Men. He is most proud to have had a team of “Angels” who went out on the race course and walked, ran, and cheered, all in support of this wonderful cause.

Many thanks to each of you for YOUR support of the Race because it is through the support of thousands of people like yourselves that The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation continues to fund vital breast health screening, treatment and education programs for medically underserved women in the tri-state area. Some of these programs include an educational video for teenagers to learn about breast health and bring home the message of early detection and breast self-examination; and a program for homeless women to be treated to no-cost mammograms and mobile mammography vans in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx.
